When to avoid drinking?
The consumption of alcoholic beverages should be avoided by:
- Children and young people under 18-years-old.
- Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers or those planning a pregnancy.
- Those who have been dependent on alcohol or who have a family history of alcoholism.
- Those with physical problems that can be aggravated by consuming alcohol.
- Those with a mental illness.
- Those taking medication.
Situations where not drinking is a safer option:
- At work.
- When taking part in professional or recreational activities that require elevated levels of attention, psychomotor skills, and/or concentration (e.g. driving, aquatic activities, operating heavy machinery etc.).
